Job description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, directs, administers and supervises activities for pediatric patients. Reports to the Medical Director on matters relating to the operation of the patient care division and maintain contact with the chairman of the department.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Ensure implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Obstetrics/Gynecology Department Policy and Guidelines.
2) Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to Ob/Gyn department.
3) Run his/her own clinic.
4) Provide supervision to the department registrars working in ER, ward and NICU.
5) Help in professional development of all staff.
6) Ensure safety of patients and staff.
7) Provide teaching materials as part of the professional development of the staff.
8) Set up a coordinated management system for the department.
9) Responsible for directing, planning, managing, and coordinating operations for the patient care activities.
10) Responsible for maintaining a working environment that promotes high standards for patient care, customer service, and ethical behavior.
11) Participates regularly with other pediatric staff, in decision-making related to patient care.
12) Provides leadership for organizational performance improvement activities.
13) Plans for the provision of orientation, in service and continuing education programs, along with other consultants of the department.
14) Participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs.
15) Attends regularly scheduled meeting for the improvement of patient care services and delivery.
16) Accepts all other additional assignments found necessary by the CEO or hospital operation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education : PhD/Royal College/Fellowship/Membership
Minimum Experience : 10years experience with minimum 5 years post Fellowship/Membership experience in relevant specialty.
Required Course(s)/Training : BLS trained preferred
Required Certification : Valid License and registration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional prolonged standing/walking. Occasionally lifts supplies/equipment.
