Title: WebSphere Application Server Consultant for z/OS
Location: Kuwait - Middle East
Duration: Contract

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration of WebSphere Application Server and Websphere Portal Server for z/OS on mainframe environments

Responsibilities:

- Install, customize, tune, maintain and upgrade WebSphere Application Server and Websphere Portal Server for z/OS.
- Take full advantage of J2EE and Web Services and related software such as WebSphere Application Server for z/OS, Web Services and J2EE architecture
- Provide technical support to Help Desk operators and Users community
- Provide on-the-job training and skill transfer to WebSphere Application Server for z/OS to colleagues
- Perform J2EE and Web Services assistance to all internal groups and services

(Application Development, z/OS and UNIX System Services on z/OS)

Maintain state of the art knowledge of WebSphere Application and Portal Server for z/OS, Web Servers, J2EE standards and Web Services architecture

Key Tasks:
- Work with project team in installation, testing and implementation of mainframe based WebSphere Application and Portal Server for z/OS and Web Servers products
- Full spectrum of WebSphere Application and Portal Server for z/OS and Web Servers system programming activities, including product installation, customization, deployment, software tools integration, exploitation, and performance analysis activities

Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Management Software (Omegamon XE for WebSphere, RMF, Jython Scripting, CA Wily Introscope). In depth knowledge of Java, UNIX System Services on z/OS, Web Services and J2EE Architecture
- In depth knowledge of J2EE and Java language
-Good knowledge of z/OS, DB2, CICS, RACF, Cobol, Linux on zSeries Development and support in XML, UNIX scripting and UNIX System Services for z/OS, HFS and zFS Unix file system
- Customize WebSphere Application Server for z/OS (Cells, nodes, clusters, servers, datasources, JCA, JMS, etc), monitor and tune WebSphere Application Server for z/OS parameters depending on performance and availability reports
Monitoring and Customize Web Servers
- Perform WebSphere Application and Portal Server for z/ OS and Web Servers tuning and capacity planning.
- Correct reported problems with software under responsibility. This includes determining the exact nature of the error so that a vendor supplied fix can be found, or a local circumvention created and applied to resolve the problem
